To Change Honduras One Must Lead By Action

Today is a good day...
My sister in laws husband Fernando...
Was motivated to plant Green Peppers and Tomatoes...
After he saw we had success with the same...
Today I took Fernando to two of our veggie buyers to sell his product...
Fernando sold 351 Green Peppers...
And 19 pales of Tomatoes...
Sold 2,705 Lempiras of veggies...
Friday Fernados´ clients want more veggies...

Fernando is 28 years old...
His veggie partner Noe is 35...
Their first crop of veggies looks very good...

We turned a cow pasture of ours to a veggie patch...
We sold our veggies...
Now two young Honduran men in my community are doing the same...

We will motivate many more young Hondurans to plant veggies...

Fernando in grey shirt...
With his vegetable partner Noe...
Selling their first Green Peppers and Tomatoes...

I have no NGO...
No million dollar budget...
No prior veggie experience...
Weathered a coup d'état...
I am on no Honduran who´s who list...
Just a man with a strong desire to change Honduras...

Lead the Charge...
Action with Passion...
We can change Honduras...

SPECIAL NOTE

215 million dollars of Millennium Challenge funding...
Did not make it to the the Guayape Valley - the Former Bread Basket of the Americas...

The Millennium Challenge Combine did not finish the road from Telica, Olancho to Puerta Castillo, Trujillo, Colon...
A road that could move Guayape Valley, Olancho agricultural products to the North Coast in four hours...

Most of the Millennium Challenge money went to the Department of Comayagua...
The back yard of the Honduran Elite...

MCA Western Honduras

MCA Western Honduras II

MCA Connects Farmers Who Do Not Live In The Guayape Valley

MCA Valle de Comayagua

MCA Farmers Comayagua

MCA Valle de Aguan

MCA Intibuca

MCA San Francisco del Valle, Ocotepeque

The famed Colonia Agricola...
Closeby to me...
Move their Egg Plant out on mud pit roads...
Using ox carts...

When MCA clearly states their job is to improve rural roads for agriculture producers...
Yet MCA pats itself on the back...

UPDATE Friday September 10.2010

From a previous post -

The Millennium Challenge combine spent $215 million dollars in Honduras...
Yet did not rehab the major shortcut transport road near Tegucigalpa from Olancho - to the North Coast road...
This road from Olancho to Tegucigalpa - leads from the Guayape Valley - the Former Bread Basket of The Americas...
The Callejas - World Bank combine shut down agriculture in Olancho...
Honduran agriculture has been replaced by Industrial Parks...
So the Honduran Ten Families could build their mass Honduran fortunes...

So you see the MCA money went West...
Not East - to the the Guayape Valley...
And no one asks why...

The Millennium Challenge Combine completely ignored this Former Bread Basket of The Americas...

"Olancho was once the breadbasket of Central America. Now it does not even produce enough grain for the province. This is forcing people's migration to urban areas and eventually their clandestine immigration into the United States."
Padre Tamayo

UPDATE September 8.2011

Fernando is still growing veggies...
And has pigs...
