Water Tanks For Our Pigs

Now that we have dropped our drip irrigation project...
Someone asked me what are we going to do with the water tanks we co-designed - purchased - for our drip irrigation project...

We are using the water tanks for our pig project...
Failure is not an option...

Thomas Alva Edison experimented thousands of times before he found the right filament to illuminate his light bulb...

Early 1950´s
Virtualy broke - age 65 - using his first Social Security check - Col. Harland Sanders - founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken - traveled the USA selling his secret chicken recipe to potential franchises...
In his travels, Col Sanders was rejected on many occasions, laughed at about his attire of his starched white shirt and white pants. Sanders persevered, and after a little over 1,000 visits, he finally persuaded Pete Harman in South Salt Lake, Utah to partner with him...

1960
The Colonel's hard work on the road pays off and there are 190 KFC franchisees and 400 franchise units in the U.S. and Canada.

1964
Kentucky Fried Chicken has more than 600 franchised outlets in the United States, Canada and the first overseas outlet, in England...
Col. Sanders sold the franchising operation for $2 million - a lifetime salary of $40,000 a year - a seat on the board of directors...

2006
More than a billion of the Colonel's "finger lickin' good" chicken dinners are served annually in more than 80 countries and territories around the world.

2010
¨Every day, more than 12 million customers are served at KFC restaurants in 109 countries and territories around the world.
KFC operates more than 5,200 restaurants in the United States and more than 15,000 units around the world.
KFC is world famous for its Original Recipe® fried chicken -- made with the same secret blend of 11 herbs and spices Colonel Harland Sanders perfected more than a half-century ago.¨

¨I made a resolve then that I was going to amount to something if I could. And no hours, nor amount of labor, nor amount of money would deter me from giving the best that there was in me. And I have done that ever since, and I win by it. I know.¨
Colonel Sanders

I use the examples of Thomas Edison and Col. Sanders...
To show there are true men who believe failure is not an option...

We will continue to experiment on our farm with projects until we find the right filament...
Or secret recipe...

No one will ever tell me I bounce from one project to another...
Quick to throw in the towel...
This Blog is a public archive of a group of men who do not fear to think outside the box...
A group of men who do not fear failure...
A group of men who try...
And try again...
No matter how many times it takes...

"Discontent is the first necessity of progress."
"I start where the last man left off."
"There's a way to do better... find it."
"Just because something doesn't do what you planned it to do doesn't mean it's useless."
"I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward."
"I have not failed. I've just found 10, 000 ways that won't work."

Thomas Edison
Founder of General Electric - GE

In 2010, Forbes ranked GE as the world's second largest company, based on a formula that compared the total sales, profits, assets, and market value of several multinational companies. The company has 304,000 employees around the world...
